Green products had their moment in the spotlight at the recent 2010 Dwell on Design event in Los Angeles, CA. More than 16,000 people attended this year’s event (the largest on the West Coast), and eco-conscious consumers got to get up close and personal with some of the industry’s hottest new planet-friendly items. One product that was showcased created quite a few waves, the new ViruPure a commercial-grade residential water filtration system made by EverPure.

Outfitting homes with point of use water filtration is not news, but has become an established trend as people move away from using disposable bottled water. The launching of a system that removes not only the usual contaminates from your tap water, but even the potentially dangerous viruses proved to be a show stopper.

This 500 gallon capacity ViruPure system was featured at the expo as part of the MODERN LIVING home, an interactive exhibit designed to demonstrate cutting-edge green products and set the standard in water filtration by offering consumers further piece of mind that their drinking water is safe.

ViruPure definitely fit the bill; its unique technology uses a “hollow membrane” technology to all but eliminate bacteria, chlorine, lead, viruses, and other contaminants that are potentially hazardous to your health.

Keeping with the eco-friendly theme, the MODERN LIVING show home was auctioned off oneBay during the expo, with a portion of the proceeds donated to Global Green USA, a non-profit dedicated to fostering a global value shift toward a sustainable and secure future.
